The Shape Connection exists to strengthen the wellbeing of third sector organisations and the people who work within them — especially those supporting vulnerable communities.

We provide the following free services:

  • Quarterly wellbeing workshops (9–12 participants) focused on emotional resilience, empathy, active listening and practical counselling skills
  • One-to-one counselling support
  • Professional supervision services
  • Story-led speaking events that highlight lived experience and sector insight

Our approach is grounded in psychological wellbeing and practical skills that can be applied immediately in demanding frontline environments.

We are expanding across Dundee through partnership working, collaboration with local organisations, and accessible community-based events — ensuring that those who give so much to others remain supported, resilient and sustainable.

At The Shape Connection, we believe caring for helpers strengthens entire communities.

What is the name of the Charity?

The Shape Connection supports third sector workers who provide frontline help to vulnerable people. Many staff and volunteers regularly support individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, mental health challenges, and social hardship, yet often have limited opportunities to reflect on their own wellbeing.

Our work creates safe spaces for reflective practice, counselling, supervision, and small group workshops, helping workers stay connected to the values that guide their work.

At the heart of everything we do are the seven SHAPE principles: Empathy, Compassion, Acceptance, Non-judgement, Open and Honest communication, being Genuine and Real, and Noticefulness.

By supporting those who support others, we strengthen organisations, communities, and the quality of care people receive.
